Events

We hold an exciting range of events in partnership with both Kenyan and international artists.

We have held two editions of the Re-Imagined Storytelling Festival (2016/2018), with guest tellers and performers from Kenya, Sierra Leone, Morocco, South Africa, Australia and The Gambia. Our storytelling; poetry and music events have featured some of the world’s finest artists, including Diane Ferlatte (USA); Jeff Gere (Hawaii); Mara Menzies (Scotland); Sanjally Jobarteh (Gambia); June Gachui (Kenya); Tetu Shani (Kenya); Ivan Irakoze (Kenya) and many more!

Re-Imagined Storytelling Festival

We have held two editions of the festival, in March 2016 and December 2018.

We partnered with Kwani in the first edition for a day of storytelling, music, poetry, workshops, and art exhibitions.

The second edition was held in partnership with the Alliance Française de Nairobi. It was a week long and included community outreach performances and workshops around Nairobi – Mathare, Buru Buru and Eastleigh; Master classes; and a festival day of performances. It featured storytellers from South Africa, Sierra Leone, Morocco, Australia and Kenya.

Night of Tales

This series brings local and international tellers together on one stage. We have had the pleasure to host some of the world’s finest storytellers!

Poetry Nights

Our themed poetry nights delve into a range of topics, such as ‘the transatlantic connections of the Black Diaspora’. They also offer a space for budding poets to take the mic!

Music Events

Featuring our favourite musicians and singers, either on a big stage or in an intimate living room setting, these nights are loved by all.
